1970
The early 1970’s was a huge transition point from single family home, to multi-family and commercial construction and development. S.P. Spoleta & Son relocated their office from 2269 Lyell Ave to 20 N. Union Street, Rochester, NY which accommodated their growth expansion.
1973
The Densmore Height Apartments is a multi-family apartment complex consisting of 224 units. Although it wasn’t Spoleta’s first multi-family development, it was certainly the largest one Spoleta built and owned during this time period.
1973
Georgetown Plaza was the first retail plaza Spoleta developed, consisting of 77,000 square feet. Spoleta owned the property up until when they sold it in 2011.
1974
The Rochester Home Builders Association appointed Samuel P. Spoleta as the new president.
1975
Perinton Square was 250,000 square feet and the second largest retail plaza Spoleta owned.
1976
What was once known as S.P. Spoleta & Sons was now officially called Spoleta Construction and Development which continues to thrive today.
1978
Co-Founder Samuel P. Spoleta retired as Chairman of the Board.
