Our Story & Commitment

Spoleta Family

When Samuel P. Spoleta began working as a home builder and remodeler around 1941, the average price of a new home was $6,900, the troops were returning from World War II and housing demands were growing rapidly. Sam stayed busy in the ensuing years, eventually expanding into single family subdivisions.

In 1958 America launched its first satellite into orbit. Elvis Presley was inducted into the US Army, and Michael D. Spoleta joined his father in the construction business. Incorporation followed and they began laying the foundation for the company that exists today. Over the years, Sam and Michael’s reputation for trust, integrity and excellence became the cornerstone of their success. By the late 1960s Michael D. had taken the lead and had begun moving the firm into the commercial arena. The next decade saw their diversified portfolio of buildings grow to include medical institutions, apartment complexes, academic institutions as well as commercial and retail outlets.

The 1980s brought the next generation into the firm when Michael and David Spoleta received their degrees in Construction Management from Syracuse University. “We really began our construction ‘education’ while on summer vacations from high school and college. We learned the business from the ground up from our father and grandfather,” recalls Michael.

Today, David and Michael M. Spoleta are the driving force behind the company. They are proud to have built upon the foundation laid by Sam and Michael D. The brothers continue to nurture and grow the reputation for excellence, integrity and quality craftsmanship inherited from their father and grandfather.
